During the Circuit Breaker period in Singapore as the COVID-19 pandemic worsened, most of us were confined to our homes with more time now to think and reflect. Curious Tales was born out of my love for unexplained phenomena and the strange world of Southeast Asian stories of the supernatural. These stories speak to me not just for the thrill they provide, but because they often show us what it means to be human.

Combining the concept with the podcast medium, I decided to take the opportunity to create a show that explored these stories with unusual/peculiar personalities, unsolved mysteries, shocking tragedies and legendary creatures.

The production of the podcast involved primarily research of some lesser known or forgotten stories from the past, and segmenting them by country for better context. I chose different themes for the five episodes as I wanted to give listeners a new experience to look forward to with each episode. Following the completion of the recording and edits, I proceeded to create a identity for the podcast, with a focus on mystery and imagery on the bizarre side of things.
